FANUC ArcMate 120iC

The welding robot at the centre of the RWS cell, used for repeat components and welded assemblies.

Enclosed dual-station cell

A two-station enclosure so one side is loaded while the robot welds the other.

Fronius TPS 400i

The power source paired with the robot for steel, stainless steel and aluminum welding.

CMT and PMC processes

Cold Metal Transfer and Pulse Multi Control processes are available on the Fronius power source.

Approx. 48 × 30 in working envelope

Component size is reviewed against the cell envelope before quoting.

From drawing package to delivery

    Drawing review and DFM

    We review your drawing package for material, joint design, fit-up and manufacturability before quoting.

    Fixture and tooling planning

    Weld fixtures and production tooling are planned as part of the job — fixturing is what makes robotic welding repeatable.

  3. 03

    First-article development

    Programs and fixtures are proven on a first article before production welding begins.

  4. 04

    Production welding

    Robotic welding runs in the enclosed dual-station cell against the approved first article.

  5. 05

    Inspection and finishing coordination

    Parts are inspected in-house, and machining, cutting, forming or coating is coordinated by RWS through its partner network.

  6. 06

    Delivery

    Completed components or assemblies are delivered on the agreed schedule.

Robotic welding questions

What materials can RWS robotically weld?
The robotic cell welds steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Material, joint design and fit-up are reviewed for every project before quoting.
What robotic welding equipment does RWS use?
A FANUC ArcMate 120iC in an enclosed dual-station cell, paired with a Fronius TPS 400i power source running CMT and PMC processes, within an approximate 48 × 30-inch working envelope.
Does RWS offer robotic TIG welding?
No. RWS offers robotic MIG welding. Laser welding and stainless-steel welding are also performed in-house, and manual MIG welding is available for parts that do not suit the robotic cell.
Can RWS design the welding fixture?
Yes. Production tooling and weld fixtures are designed and built in-house as part of the job, alongside drawing review, DFM and CAD support.
Can RWS manage cutting, machining and powder coating?
Yes. Those operations are coordinated by RWS through an established partner network, so you deal with one accountable contact for the completed component.
How do I request a robotic welding quote?
