Process Selection

The process is selected for the component

The welding process is selected according to the component, material, thickness, joint design, appearance requirements and production needs. Some stainless parts suit the robotic MIG cell, some suit laser welding, and some are better welded manually.

RWS does not offer robotic TIG welding, and not every stainless-steel component is suitable for robotic or laser welding. We review the drawing package and tell you which route fits the part.

Does RWS weld stainless steel in-house?
Yes. Stainless-steel welding is performed in-house in Burlington, Ontario for fabricated components, welded assemblies, prototypes and recurring production programs.
What stainless-steel parts does RWS review?
Fabricated components, tubular assemblies, brackets and frames, continuous welded seams, prototype assemblies and repeat production components. Each part is reviewed for grade, joint design, fit-up, finish requirements and quantity.
Can RWS support repeat production?
Yes. A first article is produced and reviewed before repeat production begins, and dedicated fixturing is used where the component requires it.
Can RWS arrange finishing?
Manual finishing is performed in-house. Powder coating and additional finishing processes are coordinated through established partners and managed by RWS.
What should be included with an RFQ?
Drawings, material grade, thickness, joint and weld requirements, finish or appearance requirements, quantities and your delivery schedule — sent to sales@robotweldingservices.com or through the quote form.
